This webinar will explore TacMed’s highest-fidelity human patient simulator, The Clinical Response Whole Body System, and TacMed’s K9 trauma simulator, Diesel, and discuss how civilian and military educators are integrating these simulators into today’s trauma training curriculums. In 2010, at the height of the Global War on Terrorism, the US Army developed the first Multiple Amputation Tourniquet Trainer. Created to improve Warrior response to signature combat wound patterns seen in Afghanistan and Iraq, this trainer introduced state-of-the-art technologies including objective measurement of bleeding, realistic feedback with tourniquet application and unprecedented animatronic movement and special effects realism. Designed for point of injury simulation, this lower extremity simulator was coupled with an upper torso simulator to create the US Army and DoD’s flagship whole-body tactical combat casualty care trauma trainer. Unfortunately, active shooter and similar events have changed the face of civilian trauma. Injuries common to combat and high crime city centers are becoming common place.
