Abstract:
In the evolving landscape of healthcare education, the integration of innovative simulation technologies has become essential for training Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs). This webinar, presented by Dr. Gonzalez, explores the significant advantages of utilizing Sentinel U’s screen-based simulations, specifically designed for the Acute Care Adult and Gero specialty focused on inpatient care. The webinar aims to illustrate how these simulations provide a comprehensive educational tool that aligns with the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) Core Competencies, thereby enhancing the training and skills of APRNs. During the session, we will introduce the key features of Sentinel U’s simulations, including robust comprehensive health records, consults, referrals, diagnostics, and imaging. Each aspect is crafted to foster critical thinking and decision-making skills through interactive components such as inquiry, review of systems (ROS), physical assessments, and differential diagnosing. The presentation will highlight how these simulations enable students to develop effective, evidence-based care plans. Attendees will gain insights through case studies and testimonials demonstrating the simulations’ impact on APRN education outcomes. This practical demonstration will showcase the depth and breadth of the learning experience facilitated by Sentinel U’s products.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will learn how Sentinel U’s screen-based simulations specifically enhance the education of APRNs in the Acute Care Adult and Gero specialty.
- The webinar will highlight how the simulations align with the NONPF Core Competencies, focusing on their practical implementation in educational settings.
- Through case studies and testimonials, participants will observe the tangible benefits and improvements in learning outcomes among APRNs who have utilized these simulations.
