This webinar focuses on the use of the iRIS Simulation Authoring Platform for the development of and collaboration on scenarios. Featuring Dr. James Cleveland and Mr. Braulio Amezaga from the Center for Simulation Innovation at UT Health San Antonio, it will demonstrate the benefits iRIS has delivered for the CSI Team. These include better engagement between curriculum and simulation, improved quality through alignment with INACSL standards, and time savings through export to manikins from various vendors.
iRIS is a web-based scenario development solution that helps educators to easily design and develop high quality training scenarios in collaboration with peers and subject matter experts. With iRIS, educators can seamlessly incorporate best practice frameworks (INACSL, ASPE, ASPiH, PEARLS Healthcare Debriefing Tool, etc.) across the full spectrum of simulation programs – Standardized Patients, Task Trainers, full-body Manikins and Patient Simulators. iRIS is a technology agnostic platform that works with manikins from leading vendors and saves you time. You can write a scenario once, and then export it to both CAE and Laerdal manikins, the UbiSim VR solution, and now iSimulate.
Joining Gary will be Dr. James Cleveland. Dr. Cleveland joined UT Health School of Nursing at San Antonio as a nursing faculty in the fall of 2009. Currently, Dr. Cleveland is the Director for the Center for Simulation Innovation (CSI). He continues to teach in the undergraduate nursing programs. He came to UT Health following his retirement from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel after nearly 28 years of combined military service.
In 1997, Mr Braulio Amezaga, Manager, AV & Teaching Support at the CSI, will also be in attendance to share practical experiences of implementing and using iRIS. Braulio is a staff member at UT Health San Antonio. His role in the Center for Simulation Innovation (CSI) is of Manager, Audio/Visual & Teaching Support Service. He provides technical support for the use of simulation in both the graduate and undergraduate programs and assists faculty and other academic researchers in qualitative and quantitative analysis for quality improvement projects. Mr. Amezaga graduated with a master’s degree in Adult Education at Texas State University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Our Lady of the Lake University.
