Abstract:
Based on the presenter’s research, this CE presentation aims to discuss the current and future trends in healthcare simulation. The current shift in healthcare from quantity of care to patient safety-centered Value-Based care has challenged clinical educators to train healthcare professionals precisely. Clinical simulation is an experiential learning technique, which is evident in the literature can provide a safe learning environment for learners to practice and master simple to complex skills (Ayaz and Ismail, 2022). Healthcare simulation is quickly becoming an essential part of clinical education and training in medical education (Ayaz and Ismail, 2022). As such, healthcare educators need to understand and apply trends of healthcare simulation in education practices to prepare the future workforce.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the importance of healthcare simulation in contemporary clinical education practices.
- Describe current trends in simulated healthcare activities as they relate to patient care outcomes.
- Explore future trends in clinical simulation as they relate to improving the healthcare workforce.
