This CE webinar will share the presenter’s created tool which acts as a roadmap for individuals entering an entry-level position, providing a path for professional development and promotional opportunities within a simulation center or career advancement. Furthermore, experienced simulationists can utilize this tool to identify the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for their ongoing professional development and career progression. Additionally, by improving their clinical simulation knowledge and skillsets, clinical simulation educators and staff members can improve the clinical learning and training outcomes of simulation participants.
This instrument leverages Discovery, Growth, and Maturity stages to guide individuals through each professional development criterion. Each stage encompasses foundational areas of knowledge, skills, and attitudes, accompanied by suggested activities that progressively build upon the elements of the preceding stage, meeting the standards outlined in the HSSBP: Professional Development.
Carrie is a passionate Simulationist who cares deeply about humanistic patient-centered care, especially for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and marginalized communities. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in EMS Education from Idaho State University and holds a master’s degree in healthcare simulation with a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Quality & Safety from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Additionally, she is dual certified as a Healthcare Simulation Education (CHSE) and Healthcare Simulation Operation Specialist (CHSOS), placing her in an elite group of individuals. She loves to integrate her extensive prehospital background as a Critical Care Flight Paramedic experiences with her knowledge and skills in simulation-based education to showcase her dedication to interprofessional collaborative care, systematic change, and ensuring the highest standards in patient centric care. When she is not creating innovative Health Science Curriculum in virtual reality, she is doing something outdoors with her family or enjoying live music.
