Chinwing graduated from Towson University Maryland in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a focus on molecular biology, biochemistry and bioinformatics. He spent five years as the Simulation Tech at Johns Hopkins University and joined MedVision in September of 2020. Chinwing’s focus at MedVision is to increase the quality of patient care by assisting in the development of the simulators to be the most versatile and high-fidelity on the market.
Objectives of this webinar include providing a head-to-toe demonstration of the Mia simulator so that attendees can better understand how Mia is different from other infant simulators on the market. Another objective is to inform participants of what is included with Mia, being the simulator itself, consumables, installation, training and warranty.
Mia comes with a number of features that help set the infant care manikin apart from other clinical simulators. First, the infant simulator comes with realistic skin that can be written on with markers and pen, and then wiped clean. The manikin is also able to exhibit realistic movement, including independent limbs movement and seizure.
Adding to Mia’s features, the manikin has full neck, shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and feet articulation, and a realistic umbilical cord with palpable pulses and umbilical catheterization. Mia demonstrates variable mouth activity, tongue edema, laryngospasm, pharyngeal obstruction, and fontanelle (normal, sunken, and bulging).
Additionally, the manikin is equipped for accurate CPR feedback, and comes with a full library of auscultation sounds. A recently updated extended cry function is one of the vocal sounds ability to be emitted from the infant simulator.
