Abstract:
As a continuation from the previous webinar Psychological Safety in Simulation: Why It Matters Most -Part One, this CE webinar addresses additional tools and techniques to enhance psychological safety in the simulation environment, specific to the debrief and evaluation settings. The concept of setting the stage for psychological safety has been emphasized in the International Nursing Association for Clinical and Simulation Learning (INACSL) Healthcare in Simulation Standards of Best Practice as a priority for simulation facilitators. It is imperative that facilitators are well prepared with the knowledge and skills to incorporate psychological safety measures into their practice in order to promote best settings for learning and reflection on practice. In addition to the continued discussion on tools and techniques, special circumstances are also addressed that include managing high-stakes simulations, or high-emotion content and topics.
Learning Objectives:
- Apply concepts of psychological safety throughout the stages of simulation.
- Evaluate psychological safety practices in the simulation setting.
- Discuss ways to implement psychological safety concepts in unique circumstances in simulation.
