Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct education and training efforts related to the development and execution of training scenarios and curriculum.

  • Five years of experience developing blended curricula for simulation-based medical training
  • Competence in blended learning environments that span the full spectrum of human patient simulators, online courseware, virtual patients, computer-based and mobile-based serious medical games, standardized patients, virtual environments and task trainers in support of a blended training environment
  • Involvement in professional organizations related to medical simulation and skills lab application in curricula.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, education, human resource administration, organization development or related
  • Training or certification in learning theory and curriculum development.
  • Training in varying methods of courseware/curriculum development projects and feedback collection methodologies
  • Registered Nurse (RN)

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Communicates and enforces with students, staff, and faculty the policies, procedures, and processes to ensure activities align with course objectives, standardization of instruction across the program, and compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and industry standards of best practice.
  • Meets with leadership to develop strategic, operational, and proposed objectives for quality improvement and integration of lab activities.
  • Actively engages in professional activity to ensure current best practices are reviewed and considered for the introduction, revision, and validation of current lab practices.

  • Travels to all GCU lab sites as often as required, weekly and/or daily.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (MSN) required.

  • 3 – 5 years relevant teaching experience or work experience in simulation techniques and nursing skills instruction, preferred.

  • Operates computer controlled mannikin simulation equipment with the ability to follow medical aspects of training scenarios and make appropriate adjustments based on participant actions
  • Operates an audio-video recording system

  • Responsible for input and tracking of information associated with training data
