Title: CNM STEMulus Director
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Institution: Central New Mexico Community College (CNM)
Duties & Responsibilities: Under the general joint supervision of the Dean of School of Health, Wellness, and Public Safety (HWPS) and the Chief Community Engagement Officer, oversees Central New Mexico Community College’s (CNM) health care programs located at CNM STEMulus and HWPS, including but not limited to simulation training, continuing education units (CEU), American Heart Association training center programs and other training / conferences / workshops. The Director is responsible for administrative functions for the program. These duties may include, but are not limited to, serving as a liaison among the students of the program, the faculty, and the College administration, as well as direct involvement in the development of employability of CNM’s students within the community. This position will be responsible for the development of new and additional programs and community growth. Additionally, this position will be involved in College initiatives designed at strategic goal development for within HWPS, CNM STEMulus, and the community.
Responsible for the ongoing/yearly organization, administration, coordination, and evaluation of all aspects of the program. Responsible for outcomes assessment, accreditation, and program development. Establishes / develops and maintains effective community partnerships in support of CNM STEMulus programs and the health care simulations for students. Responsible for publicity, fundraising and high level tours for simulation and other programs intended for external users. Partner with HWPS and CNM STEMulus faculty and staff in the development of laboratory / simulation, CEU and various training learning experiences / opportunities and curriculum.
Responsible for the management of CNM STEMulus instructors and all HWPS simulation lab staff and work-studies. Provides leadership, direction, and support to assigned staff. Responsible for the management of the simulation lab operations, including but not limited to, development, maintenance, and enforcement of policies and procedures for all simulation programs that will affect staff, faculty, students and external customers. Responsible for maintenance and effective operation of the simulation lab equipment including, but not limited to, LearningSpace, Pyxis medication system, and Gaumard / Laerdal / CAE high fidelity mannequins.
Develops the budget for the CNM STEMulus programs and HWPS simulation labs and community programs. Oversees department budget, and monitors expenditures to ensure adherence to College policies. Forecasts and controls expenditures for the department by projecting department needs, justifying requests, allocating funds, revising priorities, and monitoring expenditures. This includes equipment purchases and repairs/maintenance.
Actively prospects and leverages potential new business opportunities within the healthcare arena. Cultivates strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers within the health care industry and develops deep knowledge of potential client organizations. Analyzes potential opportunities and develops marketing strategies to promote CNM STEMulus health care programs. These duties can include, but are not limited to, oversight of simulation projects with community partners, and developing goals for programs intended for external users.
Minimum Requirements: – A Master’s degree in simulation technology, health care profession, or a related field
- At least three (3) years’ experience in simulation-based education and training, evaluation of outcomes, patient safety, and implementation of innovative simulation-based education and training programs necessary
